Dr Miro Rainsford - Counsellor and Psychotherapist

 

Miro is a counsellor and psychotherapist working with teenagers and young people, adults, and elder members of our community. Miro has experience supporting clients with a range of concerns, with a focus on mental health counselling and supporting survivors of trauma, including childhood trauma, family violence and sexual assault. Miro is trained in a wide range of evidence-based therapies including CBT, ACT, Schema Therapy, psychodynamic psychotherapy, and contemporary trauma-informed therapies including EMDR. 

Miro is an openly out member of the LGBTQIA+ community and is keen to support clients with any issues related to diversity in gender identity, bodies, or sexuality, including questioning identity and coming out, understanding diverse identities, experiencing discrimination and abuse, and building relationships with family, friends and in the workplace. He works to create a warm, safe, non-judgemental and inclusive space for you to explore your situation, and tailors the therapies he uses according to your needs and goals.
